Lunch With Canadians and Such

A Canadian from the other ward invited us over for lunch on Saturday and made us kraft mac and cheese and BBQ chicken. I haven't had either in so long and it was so nice to spend an hour or so in what almost felt like an American house(with air condicioning! yay!!) See pics

Yesterday 3 visitors came to church with us and 2 less active members!! It was so rewarding to finally see some results of all our work and I am so excited for the rest of the transfer. I'll explain more about them...

Nykollas(13) and Hudson(18): Hudson was baptized a while ago with his brother and it has been a few years that they have stopped coming to church. For some reason we were able to visit them when they didn't want to recieve visits before(may have something to do with the fact that we are 2 Americans) and met Nykollas! He is 13 and the cutest shortest little guy but is super mature and said that he wants to start coming to church!! We have been teaching him a couple weeks now and he came to church yesterday with Hudson. Love these two.

Nadejna: the cutest little old lady and i think I talked about her before. This week, she started reading the Book of Mormon and is hooked!! Her glasses broke but she tied wire around them to make them stay on her head just so she could keep reading. We also went to ther house to pick her up for church and when no one answered, we thought she was sleeping. Dissappointed, we walked to the park to wait for the bus and she was there waiting for us! She said she left early cause she was worried she would miss the bus and wouldn't get to church on time. She is the perfect example of that change of heart that is so so so rewarding to see.

Nazare: love this woman. She came to church again and loved it. Again. Also went to the wedding of a couple in our ward. She is ready to be baptized and knows it but is scared to be baptized and afterwards, fall away. We are still visiting her and she is still feeding us SO much food. Always a bonus :)

And that about sums up our week. The days go so so fast here and I can't believe we are already in the last half of May. I am so grateful to be here and I love my mission.

Love,

Sister Lauren Mather
